100 Days to A Cheapskates Style Christmas Day 19 Crochet A Shower Pouff

Picture
These gorgeous shower spa pouffes, crocheted in 100% cotton are soft, pretty, and machine washable so they can be washed over and over and over. They are a nice addition to a spa pack.

You will need:
50g 8 ply crochet cotton
5mm crochet hook

Abbreviations:
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
dc – double crochet

Start by making a magic circle.
A magic circle is simply creating a circle with a slip knot that you use as the foundation for your round crochet. The slip knot lets you tighten the circle up, closing the gap completely.

Once you've made the magic circle, chain 45. Join the length of chain by slip stitch into the circle. This creates the hanger for the puff.

Round 1: 20 dc into the circle. Join into the beginning dc. (20 dc)

Round 2: Ch 3 (this is the first dc in this round). 3 dc into the same stitch. 4 dc into each stitch around. Join into the top of the beginning ch. (80 dc)

Round 3:  Ch 3 (this is the first dc in this round). 3 dc into the same stitch. 4 dc into each stitch around. Join into the top of the beginning ch. (320 dc)

Round 4: Ch 3 (this is the first dc in this round). 3 dc into the same stitch. 4 dc into each stitch around. Join into the top of the beginning ch and tie off. (1280 dc).

To finish, weave ends in.
