2025 31 Days of MOO 7 Burrito Seasoning
We love food with flavour, and I love food that is quick and easy, and cheap, to prepare, and that is healthy too.
It's hard to go past a burrito, full of seasoned meat or chicken, and loaded with fresh salad and salsa, tasty and delicious, especially when I know it's a meal that costs hardly anything to make.
The seasonings are the key component to these meals, and while the different mixes have the same basic ingredients, it's the ingredients that are unique to each blend that changes the dish, making it something special.
MOO Burrito Seasoning is a go to in my kitchen, I keep a big jar of it in the cupboard all the time, along with MOO Taco Seasoning. It flavours our burritos, becomes a dip with cottage cheese or sour cream, added to flour it's a tasty dredge for chicken pieces and flavours rice too.
Burrito Seasoning
Ingredients:
4 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1-½ tbsp garlic powder
1-½ tbsp ground black pepper
Method:
Put all the ingredients in a small jar, tighten the lid and shake well to combine. Use immediately or store in an airtight jar.
To use: Add 1-1/2 tablespoons per 500g beef strips, mince or chicken.
Makes the equivalent of six packets of burrito seasoning.
Note: I don't add salt to this seasoning, preferring to season the meat or chicken with salt as it cooks, to our taste. You can add up to 2 tablespoons of salt to the mix if you prefer to have it all in the jar.
