Craft kits are big business, as I found out last Christmas. I was searching for little card making kits to send to some friends who would like to be crafty, and I was blown away by the prices - up to $47!

I came home, went into my craft room and started putting together supplies that could be made into different craft kits.

One of the ideas was a card making kit in a box (those kits were $39!) and I even had cardstock to make the box.  It was easy and fun to put together, thinking about the recipient and what they liked to make it personal and perfect.
Choose a theme for your card kit. In this example, I've chosen flowers and birds for this particular kit, having a theme will help you choose the papers and embellishments.

Then decide how many cards you would like the kit to make, and either make them or use them from your stash.

Next is the fun: choosing the papers, ribbons, lace, twine, gems, punches and die cuts - whatever embellishments you'd like to include.

I included some bling, and some die cuts, laces on a bobbin, as well as Designer Series Paper and coloured cardstock. I also included some dimensionals because well every card needs dimension.

I made a box, but you could recycle on you already have. Or make one from some acetate, or put everything in a decorated paper bag. It doesn't matter what the container is, as long as it holds everything securely and you can decorate it.
