Gift cards can be practical, but they can also feel a little plain if handed over in the shop packaging.

Today, make three simple gift card holders.

Use:
• Cardstock
• Envelopes
• Patterned paper scraps
• Old Christmas cards
• Brown paper
• Small paper bags
• Ribbon
• Belly bands

A very simple gift card holder can be made by folding a piece of cardstock into a pocket, sealing the sides, and decorating the front. You can also decorate a small envelope and add a handmade tag.

Gift card holders are especially useful for:
• Teens
• Teachers
• Workmates
• Hard-to-buy-for relatives
• Fuel cards
• Supermarket cards
• Craft store cards
• Coffee cards
• Garden centre cards

Budget tip: Buy gift cards gradually if they’re part of your Christmas plan. One small gift card each month is easier than several in December.
