Plain paper gift bags are one of the most useful things to have in your Christmas wrapping stash.

They can be used for food gifts, small handmade gifts, toiletries, craft gifts, children’s gifts and emergency presents.

Today, decorate a few plain bags.

Use whatever you have:
• Stamps
• Stickers
• Ribbon
• Twine
• Buttons
• Old Christmas card images
• Paper scraps
• Doilies
• Handmade tags
• Doodles
• Stencilled stars
• Punched shapes

Brown paper bags look lovely with red, green, white, gold or natural string. White bags look pretty with soft colours, stamped images or a strip of patterned paper.
You don’t need to cover the whole bag. A simple strip of paper and a handmade tag can be enough.

Cheapskates tip: Decorated plain bags often look more expensive than bought Christmas bags, and they cost much less.
