Hello Cheapskaters,
Aren't we in a fine muddle? Our country was in a political limbo while the people we chose to represent us as government made up their minds who would lead. - plans up in the air, no progress being made, no one knowing what to do next, just lots of circling and taking and not much else. It reminds me of when disaster first struck us. We were in limbo, not knowing the next step to take.
I wish I'd had the Cheapskates Club back then, life would have been a whole lot easier. Instead, over the next four years we worked out how to live better on less, and laid the groundwork for Cheapskates. I won't say it was easy, or that we enjoyed every moment. Or even that we didn't make mistakes or sacrifices or miss some of the things we could no longer afford, because we did.
But it was simple. Just a decision to do whatever was necessary to reach our goals. Once you've committed to the decision the rest just seems to happen.
If you are a new Cheapskater, wondering where to begin, start at the very beginning. Track your spending for at least four weeks so you know exactly where your money is going and what it is going on, then you can create an accurate Spending Plan.
It's spring, a brand new season, with lots of new opportunities for saving money, time and energy, the perfect time for a financial spring clean and this month I've focussed mostly on getting finances in order and under control, and the financial spring clean will continue throughout the season, ending in November.
Have a lovely month everyone and enjoy your spring cleaning, whatever form it takes.
