31 DAys of MOO No. 23 MOO One Pan Dinner Mix

These were very popular when I was a child. Buy a box of One Pan Dinner, add meat and water or milk and in a few minutes dinner was ready. They came in a variety of flavours, and I was amazed to see that they are still available at the supermarket!

Of course they are pricey for what they are - a little pasta and some seasonings in a box. You still need to add mince or chiken and milk or water.

So here is a simple MOO that you can batch. It's cheaper, tastier and a time saver.

Ingredients:
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp cornflour
1-1/2 cups dry noodles of your choice

What to add to the dry mix:
500g mince
1 cup hot water
2 cups milk
1 cup grated cheese

To make your one pan dinner:
Brown the mince and drain the fat. Add the milk and water to the pan and bring to a boil. Add the dry mix and stir in. Bring back to the boil, cover and simmer 12 - 15 minutes until the pasta is cooked. Remove the lid, stir in the cheese until just melted. Serve immediately.

To batch:
I make up four - six bags of the dry mix at a time and store in the pantry. They are handy to have for quick dinners, especially if you have canned mince on the shelf. They are also great for camping trips too.
