Saving Story: A Big Thank You
This month's saving story isn't really a story, but it is rather a wonderful testament to the ability we all have to inspire our families to live the Cheapskates way. When the whole family enjoys MOOing we're not just saving money, but teaching our children (and grand-children) that they are more than capable of doing for themselves regardless of what marketing campaigns tell them.
Giving these skills to our families ensure they'll be passed along for generations to come, giving them and future generations the ability to live life debt free, cashed up and laughing.
A Big Thank You
Recently I purchased Saving Money is Easy and Eat Well Save More ( so I have all three books now). I bit the bullet to purchase them for myself, but they are also a big hit with my children (10 and 14). This speaks volumes on the way the three of us live. During MOO Month we tried the pasta sauce mix, although it cost more to set up, we save heaps and will not go back, it is a real hit.
My children were going through the books looking for more MOO items and now have quite a list to try.
My daughter found it funny when I was pricing vodka; when I told her why she thought it was a great idea. My daughter (14) bakes every weekend for their lunchbox treats, how lucky am I !
I would like to share a recipe, not being a cake maker I can do this :
Chocolate Fruit Cake
Ingredients:
1 kg mixed fruit
700mls chocolate milk (I mix my own)
2 cups SR flour
Method:
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Soak the fruit in the milk mix for 24 hours.
Stir in the flour and cook until done for a yummy and moist fruit cake.
