Step 1. Remove the paper from the video cover. Give it a good wash and dry it thoroughly.
Step 2. Trim the paper for the cover down to fit into the VHS cover. Slide it into the cover.
Step 3. Decorate the cards. This is the fun part. A simple three strip embellishment is quick, easy enough for an absolute beginner and looks lovely.
Cut six strips of paper 2cm x 15cm.
Cut 12 strips of paper 1cm x 15cm .
Glue the 2cm wide strip in the centre of the card, landscape style. Glue a 1cm strip above and a 1cm strip below. Trim the edges level with the edge of the card to neaten.
On the cards I made, the centre strip is wider - you can make the strips as wide or as narrow as you like - whatever looks good to you will work with this very simple card design.

Embellish each card. You can add a bow, a stamped sentiment, a paper or silk flower, a sticker - whatever you like. On these cards I've cut out circles, layered them and added stamped initials to make a monogrammed set.
Place an envelope inside each card. I like to tuck the flap into the envelope, then slide the back of the card into the envelope to keep them together.
Stack them in the container.

*If you don't have any old video tapes lying around, you can pick them up at op shops for between 20c and 50c each.
**You can get packs of six cards from $2 shops, or you can get packs of 25 blank white cards with envelopes for $3 from Kmart (in the craft section). I use the Kmart cards, at 12c each they are great value.
