Bring Home The Bacon
I buy bacon rashers in bulk when it is on special. I individually roll each rasher so the rind is on one end. Place each roll on a plate or tray & freeze. When fully frozen decant into plastic bag & put in freezer. When recipe calls for 1 or more slices of bacon, remove quantity required from freezer. Carefully slice the entire rind off one end (if not required for recipe). Rind ends can be pan fried for those that like the rind! You can then chop up the frozen rolled bacon (if required to be chopped) very easily, or defrost completely if requiring whole rashers. So quick & easy to grab as many rashers as required for a recipe.
