Tip Store: eBay: Buying

eBay for Bargain Gifts

There are literally thousands of new gifts available at bargain prices or well below store costs on eBay. This is another fabulous way to buy a gift each week to put aside for Christmas, and it is a great place to find rare items. Take your postage costs into account when bidding.

Buying Books

Approximate $ Savings: 50% per book Hi there, I wanted to purchase a particular book from an overseas publisher but the cost of the book came up to about A$50 not including postage, way too much for that particular book. Instead I looked up the book on eBay and found for 50% less including postage to my door. From now on when I look for books I do my research as to how much the books cost then do a search on eBay to look for second hand or new books. What a bargain.

Don't Buy New

'm a great lover of Ebay, I hardly ever buy retail now for anything. Something that i have found out lately is to also look at Ebay.com (not .au) it's the American site. I have found quite a few things over there for half or less than what we would pay second hand here. Currently have just purchased a Tupperware Lunch box plus for $2.99 + $7.00 freight. near new condition (retail for around $25.00) Heaps cheaper than what i could get here on ebay they are mainly going for anything from $10- $20 then similar freight or more than what i paid to get it from America. So while our dollar is looking good make the most of it, always get a quote for your freight before you bid but that goes with out saying for even here in Aust, you can get people that may try to take advantage otherwise. My girlfriends and I have also done this for birthday banners, brand hats and quite a few other things and have saved a fortune!
