2016 Cheapskating Olympics

You are invited to participate in this amazing event and become a gold medal winning Cheapskate (we only have gold medals for these events).

Synchronised Savings
In this event competitors nominate a set amount that they will deposit into their PoA every day to give their savings a boost.
Take Away Long Jump
Competitors will abstain from buying or consuming takeaway food for the duration of the Cheapskates Olympics. This means that they may need to plan ahead for packed lunches, stock the fridge and freezer with easy to prepare meals for those nights when the takeaway temptation is strongest or invite friends and family for a home cooked meal rather than picking something up from the shops.

No Spend Marathon
The strongest of competitors will enter this event. For the duration of the Olympics no money will be spent, the exception being essentials (food, transport, rent/mortgage, medical/pharmacy requirements and regular bills such as utilities, gas, water etc.).

Grocery Gymnastics
This event requires competitors to shop with a list, stick to the list and to come in on or under budget. This may require browsing the junk mail to find the best specials, menu planning or doing a fridge and/or pantry inventory. The aim is to slash those grocery bills.

Track and Field
Competitors will track all spending, either in cash, by credit or debit card or by direct debit for the duration of the Cheapskates Olympics.

2016 Cheapskates Club Olympics Rules
1. The 2016 Cheapskates Club Olympics are open to all Cheapskates Club members and visitors, subscribers to the Bright Ideas to Save You Money newsletter, visitors to Debt Free, Cashed Up and Laughing or fans of our Facebook page. Cheapskates Club members will have access via the Member's Centre to Cheapskates Olympic Headquarters where they will find everything they need to win their chosen event/s. 2. All competitors must agree to live the Cheapskates way for the duration of the competitions and be willing to embrace the challenge accordding to the Olympic spirit.

All competitors must complete the online registration form to officially enter their event/s before the start of the opening ceremony on 6th August 2016 (registrations will close at 6am on 6th August 2016). Only registered competitor's results will be recognised on the Cheapskates Club Olympic Roll of Honour.
3. Competitors are required to begin their event during the opening ceremony and to complete it by the end of the closing ceremony on 22nd August 2016.
4. A certificate will be awarded to all competitors who report that they successfully completed their event/s and reached their goal/s.
5. In true Olympic spirit good sportsmanship, goodwill and honour prevail.
