Create a Rug from Recycled Pantyhose - Saturday 1st August 2015
In the mid 1970's I made a wall to wall rug by cutting the crutch out of old pantyhose then cutting what was left into strips and crocheting them in treble stitch. Lucky the bedroom it was to go in was small, 11ft by 7ft. It was a very thick rug about 12mm thick so it was a good covering for the floor, I used it for many years until we could afford carpet, then I sold it at a flee market, I bet it is still going now as it was hard wearing and all the different shades of browns worked really well. As it was getting bigger I used to go to it instead of bringing it to me.
