Do a Bill Audit
We are all in the habit of regularly doing a check to make sure we are getting the best possible deal on our insurances, phone rates and so on, but are you in the habit of doing a regular check of the fees and charges on each of your bills?
Gather your latest bills - water, gas, electricity, phone, internet, pay tv and so on and go over them with a fine-toothed comb, checking each and every charge. If there are any you aren't sure of or think don't or shouldn't apply to you, ring the company and ask for an explanation, then ask them to waive the fee.
Even if it's just $5 a month you're paying in excess fees, that's $60 a year. If that were to happen on just five regular bills you are paying out a month's grocery money (if you're on the $300 a Month Food Challenge) on pointless fees. Your money is always best in your bank account than a utility company's.
