From Cath's Desk
Hello Cheapskaters,
Welcome to the April edition of The Cheapskates Journal.
This last month has been so up and down, in our home, in our country and throughout the world. We've gone through floods, cyclones, illness, listening to the crazies who rule the world throw tantrums, it has been a complete shemozzle.
So much so that Wayne and I chose to switch off. We stopped listening to the news, turned off the TV and radio, stopped reading Facebook and chose instead to focus on our family and our home. The stress lifted! We were more settled, happier, less irritable. Pottering around the house and garden was relaxing.
A huge bonus was that we stopped spending money. I still have all my pocket money. Wayne still has all his pocket money. And we haven't missed out on anything.
We're going to extend the news ban. If anything happens that we really need to know about we'll find out. In the meantime we'll continue to focus on our home and our family and enjoy what we have.
If you're finding the news gloomy at the moment, maybe switching off will help. Just don't switch off from Cheapskates. You'll always find good news, lots of support and interesting people to chat with here (and of course you'll learn how to live life debt free, cashed up and laughing!).
