Hello Cheapskaters,
It's the start of a new financial year. A chance to look at your financial life and make adjustments. An opportunity to fix the leaks that destroy your budget plans.
A new start if you like.
So this month I've shared the ways we track our financial life, including some of the things we did way back when we first started living the Cheapskates way. Some of them are a little wacky, but they work.
Often we forget that it's the little things we do, day in, day out, that make the difference to our bottom lines. Yes, shopping around and getting a better deal on insurance or phone plans or power plans is important (and everyone should do this every year) but they are what I consider "one off" savings. They can't easily be replicated until next year.
But when you can trim a little off the grocery budget by changing brands, or trim the power bill by switching to a power saver power board for your chargers (it's a great idea, we do this too), those are the little savings that are replicated over and over, every day of every year. And those little savings add up.
Enjoy this month's Journal, and don't forget to join in the discussions in the Forum.
