Try a Student Salon
Instead of paying at least $20 for a manicure or facial, try a student salon! As a Diploma student, I know for sure that we are all fully supervised and thoroughly ready to take on the public. During most beauty school evening classes, they struggle to get people in to work with so nine out of ten walk out with free facials, massage, waxing, piercing etc. Great for your purse and great for the students!

Pampering on a Penny Budget
Approximate $ Savings: up to $60 per session
As a busy working mum of 3, I quite often crave some pampering. The thought of paying the beauty parlour prices for facials etc ($50 - $100) sent my head into a spin. I discovered last year that the local TAFE campuses have beautician courses and the students need clients to practice on. So a couple of times a year I book myself some appointments and have a relaxing time getting pampered. The services I have used are the deluxe facial $12.00, deluxe pedicure $9.00 and an aromatherapy massage for $12.00. They have a range of services and use all of the top range products (Dermalogica etc)and its a great way to get some budget pampering and a way of helping the students to get through their course.

Local Techs Take the Public as Paying Customers
When looking for a cheap haircut, colour or massage your local technical college has days when the students take the public as paying customers. Also their restaurants have times when you can go for lunch or dinner with the food and service supplied by their hospitality students.

Budget Massage
Pampering yourself can be expensive, but I've picked up a couple of money saving tips. I've learned that massage therapists need training, so I go get a massage once a month on the training nights and it's great!
