MOO Hairspray
I don’t often use anything in my hair but there are times when it just has to stay looking half-way decent for the day. It's those times I used to reach for the can of hairspray. The last can I bought was supposedly the safest and best, I know at $16 it was the most expensive can of hair spray I have ever bought.
It irked me that I was spending so much money on something I don't use a lot or really like using so Hannah, my hairdresser in the making, started looking for alternatives for me.
She came up with a few that we tried, most of them only once (one had gelatine in it, it was revolting). And then she found this one.
It's great. OK, it's the best of what we've tried. It kind of reminds me of the hair spray my Mum used - it's sticky and it sets like cement. But my hair was shiny and it stayed put. And it washes out easily.
I like that I can make up a small bottle as and when I need it, from things we always have in the kitchen.
And I like that it costs about 30 cents, that's a $15.70 saving!
You will need:
1 cup water
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon white sugar
Warm the water, add the vinegar and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Put it into a spray bottle. Use sparingly, like I said it sets like cement.
