No Egg Egg Replacer is a Frugal Substitute - December 2019
My son has an egg allergy and so we use a vegan product called Orgran No Egg Egg Replacer, which costs $3.90 at my local health food shop. It used to be available at Coles and Woolworths, but they no longer stock it. Aldi does sometimes have it as a special buy, worth watching out as it is a little cheaper than at the health food shop. One packet is the equivalent to 66 eggs (or 5 1/2 dozen)! Even for those who can eat eggs, this is a big cost saving of $23.60 on store bought fresh eggs. The shelf life is much longer too as it is a powder and it doesn't need to be kept in the fridge. If you like to save money by baking your own cakes, biscuits, batters, pie fillings and mayonnaise then this is worth a try.
