Tip Store: Groceries: NQR
NQR and Reject Shop
Although I do my main shop at Coles because I can get everything I need at the one shop, I have found checking out the local NQR and Reject shop can save some money on non perishable items. Consistently Dove soap is less than a dollar a bar of soap. Toiletry items are also cheaper. Pasta is about half the price of Coles and Woolworths. So during lockdown when there is plenty of time maybe check out these stores.

NQR - shop online
Approximate $ Savings: around 45% on grocery shopping
NQR now have an online shop. Delivery in Melbourne Metro areas is only around $8.00 so I can now save heaps. I cannot always get into a NQR store, so now with the online shopping I can still grab my bargains. You can't get all of shopping needs, but you can save a heap on stuff like biscuits, drinks, cleaning products and kids lunchbox snacks. Interstate shoppers can save as well, depending on the cost of freight to you.

Shopping for the 'Rite Price'
Regarding the 'Shopping in NQR first' tip: In Adelaide we don't have NQR, but we do have the 'Rite Price' chain of stores, which do the same thing. They're really good for cordials, frozen vegies, and breakfast cereals (and lots of other items too of course!)

Start Shopping at Grocery Clearance Then Finish at Supermarket
Approximate $ Savings: $70 a week
I always do my grocery shopping at NQR Grocery Clearance first. They have discounted groceries, dairy and freezer products. Is particularly good to pick up yoghurts and snacks for the kids. You can save at least 50% off on most products when you compare to the supermarkets.
