SAVE TIME AND MONEY BY ORGANISING YOUR CAMPING ITEMS
I have plastic storage boxes with a laminated list velcroed to the lid. I have a box/list for kitchen items, toiletries, safety items, food, so on and so forth. Each list is printed and as I pack an item I mark it as packed, I then clean it off once all is packed. If it's a consumable item I mark when it's gone and needs replacing. This way when repacking to come home I know where each item belongs and if it needs replacing I can put it on my shopping list to get on special before our next trip. This saves me money buying items at the last minute or leaving needed items home ... therefore costly expenses once camping. It also saves time as I know exactly what I need instead of trying to remember what I need each time. .. and also time when packing to come home as each item has a place instead of trying to shove things everywhere to fit.

Baggage Carousel Time Saver
When waiting for your bag to come out of the baggage carousel at the airport you notice that lots of bags look the same. To save time and avoid picking up the wrong bag use a permanent marker to write in very large letters your surname on the bottom of the bag, this makes it very easy to spot. Soap Slivers for Travelling
When a bar of soap becomes too small to use for bathing, allow it to dry and store it in a ziplock bag in your handbag. If you find yourself at a public restroom where there is no soap, or in any other circumstances where there is no soap available, you can use your own piece. I have done this and then left it on the sink for others to use after me.

Baby Wipes
I always carry baby wipes in my 4WD; they are handy for cleaning dirty or greasy fingers on trips long and short and around the campfire.

Sample Size Travelling
Whenever you get the sample shampoos and conditioners, moisturisers and more in magazines, or in sample and show bags - SAVE THEM! These are great for travelling instead of taking bottles everywhere. Your luggage will weigh less and these samples cost you nothing (provided you haven't bought the magazine just for the samples!!) And the bonus is every time you use one and throw it out you're making more room in your luggage for souvenirs!

Keep a Record of What You Pack
Not only will you not forget essentials when packing, if you keep a record of everything you wish to pack and what you pack in each piece of luggage, it is so easy if offloaded and your luggage continues on or if it is lost. It is easier to give a copy of 'everything' to the airline or insurance company. It's also a great way to check what you don't need. You know whether you have an item you need without going through all your luggage and not finding it. It's also a good idea to keep a set of undies for each passenger in hand luggage with other essentials. And when flying, make sure you keep your medications with you, even if many.

Travel Size Cosmetics
Don't spend money on buying expensive travel size products to take on holiday. Go to a discount store and buy the small travel bottles and snap lid containers (have also seen these in Price Attack haircare stores). Or an even cheaper option is to keep small plastic (refillable) bottles, to re-use. Avon used to have bath oil and lotion, in around 200ml bottles - perfect! Decant you favourite lotions and potions into them, and you're ready for the trip! It saves money, and also gives you extra space for all those bargains!

Home Delivery e.g Newspapers
When going on holiday I always pay monthly bills eg. milk, paper (anything I have delivered) in double then cancel. That way when I arrive home and order again I have the first lot already paid for and time to get back on my feet after my holiday.

Space Saving, Money Saving Holiday Tips
Always keep a supply of empty bottles (their size will cater for ONE WEEK-various sizes for various powder, liquids etc) in a bag for one week supply of different products. That way a range of bottles will provide a choice when packing is at a minimum and large is a dirty word on pack-your-own-holidays. AND the family will not have to pay for holiday shampoos, detergents, cleansers and one always has their favourite products instead of compromise. The washing powder could be packed into a plastic bag per load as it takes the least amount of space. If you feel that you just have to purchase (for whatever reason) on holiday then take empty containers to bring home the residual instead of a part open container that usually spills on the trip home-your product and money.
