Safer Shampooing

I recently read comments by a dermatologist on the dreadful effects shampoo can have on your skin - he said it's basically a strong detergent that runs down your entire body as you wash. I've swapped to vinegar from chemicals when it comes to cleaning my house, so what am I doing washing MYSELF with them???

As someone with a sensitive scalp and sensitive skin, I was interested to know this dermatologist's alternatives to shampoo. He suggested merely conditioning - I don't know the science of it, but apparently conditioners are ok. I no longer shampoo my hair, merely condition it a couple of times a week, saving myself time and dollars (the amount saved depends on what shampoo you use!). I don't know how this would go for people with greasy hair, but my long, dry, curly hair LOVES it - it's less dry, and I have the least frizz I've ever had, without using any expensive styling products!

I'm also finding that the longer I keep going with my new routine, the less frequently I need to even condition my hair... saving even more time and money. And yes, my hair is still clean, and it smells great - whatever scent I choose to condition with!
