Who doesn’t love the convenience, and OK the sheer fun, of sticky notes? They're so handy to have in your handbag or backpack, in the car, on the bedside table, on your desk, on the kitchen bench for jotting down those little notes and reminders.
But the sticky note pad gets dirty quickly. All that sticky attracts dust and dirt and breadcrumbs, and makes the sticky notes, well, less sticky.
To protect the sticky note pad, this very easy to make and very, very cute little notebook holder is perfect, especially because it comes with a slot for a mini pen! No point in having a sticky note without a pen.

The sticky notepads and pens I used came from a local to me $2 type shop. The sticky notes were 5 pads for $2, the pens were a pack of 10 mini gel pens for $5. For $9 I was able to make 10 cute and useful stocking stuffers.
These are great sellers at craft fairs too, because, again, who doesn't love a sticky note?
You will need:
Cardstock measuring 8-1/2" x 3-1/2
Glue
Small piece of Designer Series Paper measuring 3-1/4" x 3-1/4
Small piece of white cardstock for message
Embellishments - gems, ribbon, flowers etc.

Step 1. On the long side, score the cardstock at 3-1/2", 4" and 4-1/2".
Step 2. Fold and burnish all score lines starting with a mountain fold on the 3-1/2" line, then a valley fold on the 4" score line and a mountain fold on the 4-12" score line.
Step 2. Fold and burnish all score lines starting with a mountain fold on the 3-1/2" line, then a valley fold on the 4" score line and a mountain fold on the 4-12" score line.
Step 3. On the 3-1/2" and 4-1/2" score lines measure down 1"from the top and up 1" from the bottom. Draw a pencil line across from edge to edge.
Step 4. Using a scalpel or scissors, cut along the pencil lines to make the slots for the pen holder. Carefully lift the centre panels and fold the valley fold to become a mountain fold. This section should then sit square to the other fold lines.
Step 5. Fold the cardstock on the 4-1/2" score line. Using wet glue (I find this the easiest, you can use Tear Tape or Seal) carefully stick down the top and the bottom portions of the card, leaving the centre pen holder free.
Step 6. Decorate the front of the sticky notepad holder. I've used Designer Series Paper, but you could leave it plain, or stamp it. Cut a small shape for the message, stamp and stick it to the centre of the front. Add any bling or other embellishment, keeping in mind that the notepad may be in and out of a bag or purse, or pocket, so make sure everything is as flat as possible and well stuck down.
