Stove Top Potpourri
The long, dank days of winter can make our homes musty. When the weather is cold and damp, opening the doors and windows to let fresh air in just isn't feasible, so to keep our home fresh and inviting I do the next best thing and make this gorgeous stove-top pot pourri.
Once it's made on the stove I transfer the pot to the top of the combustion heater and let the scent slowly waft through the house.
I prefer this to burning candles or using oil burners, as there's no risk of a fire or damage to furniture.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon craisins (dried cranberries)
1 orange (sliced)
4 cinnamon sticks (broken in half)
1 tablespoon cloves
Pinch nutmeg
2 cups water
Directions:
Combine ingredients in a small pot and simmer over low heat for as long as desired. Add more water if it gets low. Enjoy the scent of winter!
