Nice things people say......
Curious about whether the Cheapskates Club is right for you?
We receive many emails, phone calls and even letters from Cheapskaters thanking us for helping them make the switch from spendthrift to Cheapskate.
Here are just some of the many we have received over the years.

"I just wanted to share with you that I went into semi retirement at the commencement of 2016. My income dropped by 60% due to changing form a management role to a teaching role (without all of the extra stress and responsibilities). So far, I have been able to manage our family's budget and expenditure as I have been following many of the tips from The Cheapskates Club over the years. I have also bee able to go overseas two years in a row with my sisters and this year will be going overseas again, but this time with my husband and adult daughter. Your book: Debt free, Cashed Up and Laughing started my Cheapskates journey. I thrilled that some of the tips were actual things I was already implementing. I also found a lot more great ideas as well. Thank you so much."

" I first saw a segment about Cheapskates Club on TV a few years ago and shared the information with my daughter who was struggling with debt and she has learnt a lot from your site and is now debt free. So thank you for all the resources you have here that help. I love homemaking and have benefited from a lifetime of living by these basic principles and find that even though I think I do it all well these days, I still find that there is always something new to learn and improve how I do things."

" Just a quick note that I made the coffee syrup from your book which I got out of the library and it is really good, even my family think it is great and are happy to have this instead of the expensive bought stuff."

"Hi Cath! I live in a reasonably remote rural area of Victoria in the Mallee. The majority of our community members are farmers, farmers wives or farmers children or at least, people who rely on farmers for their income. Due to the prolonged drought situation, we are all suffering at the hip pocket and towards the end of the year is particularly hard financially. If you do not stick to your budget religiously throughout the year, there simply isn't any money coming in ANYWHERE! Last year my partner and I ran out of money due to budget oversights and unforeseen circumstances on the farm with machinery. It was mortifying and very tough on both of us emotionally. This year, I am proud to say we have already done our Christmas shopping, we are doing the usual festive meal on a blitzing budget and have even saved enough money for our airline tickets for a holiday in February - all on the same amount of money as last year. I wanted to personally thank you and your brilliant website and of course the generous and supportive Cheapskaters out there who have provided me with a new perspective on money, material wealth and emotional well-being. I have never been a saver. I have always lived for the moment. In retrospect, I was thoroughly materialistic in all the worst possible ways. This is not to say I am now an efficient saving machine but at least I know that my goals in life are not determined by what I have and how much it cost. Thank you for providing me with an insight into a potentially destructive life path and of course, for those brilliant newsletters chockfull with great ideas! By the way, I have made my partner pay for his cups of coffee since July. This is how we have afforded to go on holidays!!!!!!"

"Dear Cath,
I love reading your daily tips and have used quite a lot but I am over the moon with your Shake N Bake recipe. My husband has progressive MS and his taste buds are causing us to look at different ideas to make food tasty to him again. I was always buying lots of commercial products to coat his foods but this recipe takes the cake. He loves it and it is saving us very important money daily. He loves it on everything and his enjoyment of food is back and that is lasts a long time is a pure gift. Thank you from my husbands taste buds to the bottom of my heart."

"I am new to Cheapskating. I had been hanging around the Cheapskates website for about a month when I saw your August joining special and I jumped at the chance to save money...I think I'll make a good Cheapskater!! I have always been reasonably careful with my money but after reading the FREE stuff section of the website (before joining) I immediately made up the cheapskates washing powder, which is great as it doesn't leave white marks all over my black clothes, I started collecting supermarket specials catalogues (and get excited when they arrive), buying groceries in bulk, taking my lunch to work, and I made a money box for spare change. I didn't buy a cheapie from the $2 shop, I made my own from an empty margarine container. I have been an occasional op shopper, as I love a bargain, but I have started scouring the op shops before the retail stores to find my goods, e.g. shoes for the kids, books, kitchen utensils, paying 25c for a kids video instead of $16 for a DVD, etc. I got my credit card statement yesterday and to my sheer delight, and disbelief, my monthly statement was almost $1000 less than usual. I haven't been keeping track of my savings so I can't quite account for the savings but I am absolutely thrilled! Thanks Cath, you have another happy Cheapskater!!!"

"Wow what can I say! I have been procrastinating about joining and then along comes the membership sale and I couldn't resist such a bargain, so I joined, see saving money already. I have been looking through the website for an hour now and am wondering why I hadn't joined before, the tips are great, I am already seeing how to save money and I can see that the membership cost is well worth it. I look forward to researching the Cheapskates Cllub even more and putting the tips into action. Thank You."

"Hi Cath, Firstly a big congrats for writing a wonderful e-book. I’ve only just recently become a member of Cheapskates and wished I had of joined years ago. I consider myself a careful shopper however I have learnt so many tips and ideas in a very short time that will see me saving big $$ at the checkouts in future.
My general grocery bill for my partner and I is around $140 a week. We eat rather well and healthily but we are cutting back a bit to save even more. We love eating fresh salmon but realise that it’s quite a costly fish and now only have it once a fortnight. We buy the frozen white fillets from Aldi in a 10 pack.
Last week I made up my grocery list on items we really needed by using up the stuff we had already in the kitchen and I was pleased to say that the total bill came to $68 that’s a $72 saving in just one week!
I’m in the process of making a price book and looking forward to a quicker and simpler shopping trip this Friday evening.
I hope you continue in your quest to help as many people as possible become super shoppers. I have told a few friends of mine and although they are a little sceptical I will only have to tell them how much I’m saving each month and then I’m sure I’ll win them over.
You have certainly helped me and my partner and I just wanted to thank you personally."
Kind regards
Karen Huntington

"Dear Cath, I am really touched that you responded personally to my question, particularly a long well thought out answer. It warms my heart especially since you have the business to run and a family of five of your own. You have given me food for thought (forgive the pun) and at month end I will be analysing what I have left and what else I had to buy. Month two will definitely see improvements. Thank you once more. You truly are inspiring."

"Hi Cath, I just wanted to let you know that I love your website. Being a pensioner with a small job it's not easy to break even but the first week I saved enough to join up and this week I have saved enough to buy something I really needed. I am also lowering my debt and feeling great. One huge side bonus is that my daughter and I are losing weight because we are not eating take-away. I am having the time of my life reading the tips, making things and planning for christmas. Thanks heaps for your site. Keep up the great work. Cheers,"

My husband and I are getting ready to start a family so the tips from your site and other Cheapskates Club members are going to be a big help when I take time off work and have to live on one salary."
