31 Days of MOO No. 3 Homemade Hand Cleaner

Picture
Are your hands dry and sore after a summer of gardening, cooking, cleaning and outdoor living? Then you need this gentle hand cleaner. It will soften and smooth rough skin and cuticles gently and safely. Best of all you can make it at home in about three minutes!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup olive oil
A few drops of Vitamin E oil*

Pour the oats into a food processor and process to a course powder (there will be some fine powder, but mostly larger flakes of the oats).

Pour the blended oats into a bowl. Add the sugar, olive oil  and Vitamin E oil. Add the coconut oil a little at a time, stirring well between adds, until the hand cleaner is as thick as you'd like it to be. You may need to add more coconut milk, depending on the oats and how thick you'd like the cleaner. If you want a scrub-like hand cleaner, use less coconut milk to make a thick paste. If you'd like a softer hand cleaner add a little more coconut milk.

Put the finished mixture in a clean jar with a screw top lid. Use morning and night to wash your hands. They will be clean, soft and smooth.

This mixture contains all natural ingredients, so it won't keep forever, so don't try to make a bigger batch unless you can use it within a week. Keep in the fridge to extend the life of the hand cleaner. Will keep for up to 7 days.

*I buy Vitamin E oil capsules to use for this, and other treatments that need Vitamin E. The Vitamin E in this hand cleaner acts as a preservative as well as treating your hands.
