31 Days of MOO 2024: No. 2 Stamp Cleaner

Picture
When my favourite stamp cleaner was no longer available, I went searching for a MOO. Some people use baby wipes to clean their stamps, and they are fine, to a point. Baby wipes do over time cause the surface of your stamps to deteriorate, leaving a poor impression when they are inked up.

This stamp cleaner works, and it's easy to make. A good side benefit is that it is a lot cheaper than the one I was buying at $20 for a 100ml bottle (good thing it worked and lasted a long time).

You will need:
A 250ml spray bottle with a fine mist nozzle
2 tbsp glycerine
1 tbsp baby shampoo
Cool, boiled water

Method:
Combine the glycerine and baby shampoo together and add enough cool, boiled water to fill the spray bottle.

To use, spritz your stamps after stamping and wipe clean on a microfibre cloth.

Cost: $1.68 per 250ml bottle.

Notes: Glycerine can be bought in the health aisle at your supermarket.
I use baby shampoo because it is gentle and I have a botte; any gentle, plain shampoo will work. I have also used liquid Castille soap to make this cleaner with great success.
I decant from the larger spray bottle into a smaller spritzer bottle and keep one in my craft tote along with a microfibre cloth and store them in a drawstring bag for card making days.
