100 Days to a Cheapskates STyle Christmas Day 85: Stacks of Cookies
These look amazing, but are so simple! And frugal!
If you're a great cook, make some delicious biscuits (think Cranberry Hootycreeks or Grandma's Shortbread), but if you're not, or you're short on time, pick up a pack of "homestyle" cookies from the bakery section of Coles or Woolworths, they vary from around $3 - $5, depending on the biscuit and the number in the package.
Cut a piece of cellophane large enough to gather over a stack of six cookies (or use a small oven bag). Put the cookies in the centre, gather the corners and tie with ribbon or curling ribbon or baker's twine or string to keep it closed. Slip a candy cane through the ribbon and attach a gift card.
How easy is that!
