Getting the Most out of Expensive Dishwashing Powder - June 2018

​I have a child who goes nuts with fumes or residue from regular, cheap, supermarket dishwasher powder/tablets. I haven't had any luck from making our own long-term. It might work for a few washes but then everything starts to look cloudy and doesn't get clean. I've been buying expensive sensitivities-friendly dishwasher powder from Wholefood Merchants in Ferntree Gully. When I buy a new one this week I'm going to keep the packaging for the old, tip half the expensive dishwasher powder into the old package, and top up with bi-carb soda. This way I'll still get the useful cleaners from the expensive powder but it will go twice as far.
