Beef Casserole Seasoning Mix
This mix makes the best casseroles. It's called beef casserole seasoning, but I've used it on lamb too and it's just as delicious. This replaces the packets of casserole seasoning you can buy - they are expensive, mostly filler with very little actual herbs and spices in them, as well as a lot of stuff you don't need - anti-clumping agents, preservatives, colours and so on.
Using the contents of your spice cupboard you can make something even better - and far cheaper when you do the math!
Beef Casserole Seasoning Mix

1 cup plain flour
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
2 tbsp paprika (sweet or hot - use the one to suit your taste)
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp celery seed
2 tbsp onion powder
Method:
Mix all ingredients together.
To use: Dice the meat and toss in 2 tablespoons of seasoning mix per 500g of beef or lamb then cook as per your recipe.
