31 Days of MOO No. 19 Hydrolyte (Electrolyte Replacement Drink)
Perfect for after sport, a heavy workout or mild gastro and mild fevers until you can get to a doctor this recipe tastes better than any of the fake flavours you buy from the chemist. It's easy to make, particularly useful if you need to make it up in a hurry. I keep juice in the freezer so making a batch up is quick and easy when it's needed. Many a night it's been used until the chemist opened in the morning, or we could get to a doctor.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 cups water
2 tbsp honey
1/8 tsp or good pinch pink salt or non-iodised sea salt
Crush the salt if it's in rock form, before measuring to get enough. Then add to other ingredients and mix until honey and salt have dissolved. Keep in the fridge and sip as needed.
Note: this is a temporary substitute. If gastro or symptoms last more than 24 hours, get medial acvice.
