Pantry Tour 2023

Picture
Well here it is! The long awaited, oft asked for, pantry tour.

This is my pantry. It holds the things we need, like and use. Some things are branded (tea and coffee), most are generic or the cheapest I could get when I was shopping.

You'll see gaps. There are two reasons for this:
1. I prefer to shop once a year, but the last two years I've been trying to replace things as we use them to maintain the pantry.
2. Maintaining the pantry is getting harder with shortages (I mention tomato soup and baked beans in the video) and rising pries. My grocery budget hasn't gone up with those prices.

It is a working pantry.

That means it gets used. I am constantly shopping the pantry and stockpile to cook our meals, bake our treats and preserve our foods, so it is in a constant state of flux. Nothing sits in the pantry for very long (although I did have an A10 tin of two fruits for a while - it's been used up in Cuppa Cakes for the freezer, at last).

All the cleaning products you see on the kitchen table are stored in the laundry or under the kitchen sink.

All the toiletries you see on the kitchen bench are stored in the two bathroom cupboards.

You do not need a lot of space or extra rooms or a shed or a basement to build a sizeable pantry as your food security.

Enjoy the video!
