Making memories is one of the best parts of Christmas, and what better way to remember them than with a memory album?

This little album is made from pre-made cards, and then decorated and embellished to suit the recipient.

Quick, easy, fun and frugal, it makes a wonderful stocking stuffer for the photo addict on your list so they can print their favourite photos and keep them safely in the album. Or perhspas Grandma, so she can carry her Christmas memories with her to show off, these albums are often called brag books.

There are no real instructions for making these little albums.

Use what you have, decorate them the way you want to. They can be perfectly plain, or elaborate, elegantly simply or shabby chic. They can be feminine or masculine, made for all ages.

As long as the base is right, everything else will fall into place.

Start with four ready-made cards. I like to use a coloured card, but white works too. And any size, as long as they are all the same size.

Create your album by gluing the back of one card to the front of another. Your front and back covers will be a single layer, the inside pages will be double thickness.

Once you've made the album it's time to decorate and embellish.

I like to cut the mats a half centimetre smaller than the page; it leaves a nice border.

Leaving every second page blank, or only lightly decorated and embellished, for a bigger photo, is a good idea. Then the other pages can have pockets on them to slip in memorabillia (the funny jokes from the Christmas crackers or gift tags from presents), or smaller photos or bigger tags for mounting photos. Really whatever the recipient wants to keep.

This is another inexpensive stocking stuffer or gift idea, made with things you most likely already have in your craft room.
