Get out your crochet hook and those little bits of leftover cotton, and whip up some face scrubbies.

Use cotton yarn, I love the 4 ply Bendigo Woollen Mills cotton, it's soft, but very durable, and comes in so many beautiful colours. Wait until it's on sale for and stock up.

But any four ply or medium weight cotton can be used.

If you want to make your face scrubbies really luxurious, choose a bamboo yarn. They will be thick and so soft on the skin.

It takes about an hour to crochet a set of six. Tie them in a bundle with a pretty ribbon, add a tag and they are a lovely addition to a Christmas stocking.

Team them with a tub of Coconut Vanilla Sugar Scrub for a themed gift.

They are simple to make, just four rounds, and they are easy enough for a beginner to make.

To create your face scrubbie:
Using a 4.5mm crochet hook, start with a magic circle.*

Round 1: Ch. 3, work 11 double crochet into magic circle, slip stitch in to top of starting 3 chain to join. (12 double crochet)

Round 2: Slip 1 stitch, chain 3 (this leaves a seamless join to the rounds), work 1 double crochet into same stitch, work 2 double crochet into each stitch around, slip stitch in to top of starting 3 chain to join. (24 double crochet)

Round 3: Slip 1 stitch, chain , work 1 double crochet into same stitch, 1 double crochet into next stitch, (2 double crochet into next stitch, 1 double crochet into next stitch) 11 times, slip stitch in to top of starting 3 chain to join. (36 Double crochet)

Round 4: Slip 1 stitch, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, work 5 double crochet in next stitch, skip 1 stitch, (slip stitch in next stitch, skip 1 stitch, 5 double crochet in next stitch, skip 1 stitch) 8 times, slip stitch into chain 1 space to join. (45 double crochet and 9 slipped stitches.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

*To make a magic circle, loop the yarn around your fingers, insert the hook and pull up a loop. Do not pull tight. Make the required number of chain, then work the stitches into the ring. At the end of the round, pull the yarn tail to tighten.
